2008

Colin Smith establishes Wheatway Solutions, initially selling crushing and screening plant and designing and manufacturing spare parts for these machines.

2010

Colin builds the first Gyru-Star screening bucket.

2012

As demand for Gyru-Star screening buckets increases, Colin’s daughter Rachael joins the company, assisting with production.

2013

Wheatway Solutions relocates to a dedicated manufacturing facility in Gloucester, which later becomes the company’s head office.

Exciting news coming soon.

What Does it Mean to Be a Solutions Provider?

Our customers come to us when they are facing challenges for which there is no off-the-shelf solution. We design, manufacture, and deliver high-quality, innovative solutions that enable them to overcome these challenges and streamline their operations.

We focus on providing our customers with three key services: product development, manufacturing, and industrial solutions. Alongside this, we have also developed an extensive range of compact attachments and interfaces for excavators, loaders, and skid steers. Each of our products has emerged from a gap in the market that other manufacturers were unwilling or unable to fill.

We're More than Just a Manufacturer

Registered Member of Made in Britain

Everything we make, from our bespoke solutions to Gyru-Star screening buckets, is manufactured in Great Britain. Since 2024, our products have proudly carried the Made in Britain trademark, a formal recognition of our commitment to British manufacturing.

By keeping all our manufacturing within our home county of Gloucestershire, we have been able to innovate in ways that are not possible with overseas manufacturing. When we receive feedback from one of our customers, we can implement changes to a product within a matter of days. This has allowed us to stay ahead of the competition and maintain our position as a global market leader.

Developing Solutions for Net Zero

A significant part of our innovation-first approach is designing for Net Zero. We carefully consider the impact our products will have from cradle to grave, designing them to have as minimal an impact on the environment as possible.

Furthermore, many of our products and solutions are designed to help the end user reduce their environmental impact and waste. This is in addition to our work in the biomass and renewable energy industries.

However, our commitment to Net Zero does not stop there. At our manufacturing facilities, we have taken a number of steps to reduce our emissions, including installing low-energy lighting and air source heat pumps. We also keep all our manufacturing local, reducing emissions from transporting materials and components.

Investing in the Next Generation

We believe that cultivating a culture of innovation within the next generation to paramount to ensuring a better future for all. This is why we have sponsored STEM projects are local schools in Gloucestershire and offered work placement opportunities to T-Level students.

Wheatway Sponsored Athletes

As part of our investment back into the local community, we provide sponsorship to promising local athletes, supporting their development and helping them to compete at a regional or national level. We currently sponsor the Shredded Ducks rugby team and provide player sponsorship for Mike Cross at Lydney Rugby Club. Additionally, we also sponsor athletes competing in downhill mountain biking and BMX.
