The Story:
In 2014, we were approached by a civils contractor in Ireland, to develop a concept for an excavator tree saw into a final product.
The contactor had been tasked with clearing trees along motorways in Ireland, and they were looking for a way to quickly and safely remove them. Whilst they had settled on the idea of a tree saw early on, they had been unable to find a suitable solution for their 30 ton excavator.
With a concept of what the finished product should be, they still required help in developing it into a completed product. We our extensive experience in product development, and turnkey manufacturing capabilities, we were the natural choice to take on the project.
The design utilised an automatic chainsaw arm and was fitted with an integrated grab arm for the safe handling of felled trees.
As with all Wheatway Solutions products, the tree saw was design with quality and innovation at its core. The chassis was built by our in-house fabrication team, before being passed over to the build team for assembly. Finally, it was over to our logistics team, who arranged transport to the customer in Ireland.
